Art

hi readers

My blog is all about art. Art is my  favourite lesson where children can be creative for there own style.

A whole day of art

In Topic week we have a whole day of art. Learning about French artists

 Claude Monet, he did Impressionism
 Henri Matisse, he did Pointillism
 George Seurat, he did Impressionism

So all day we learned about these three French artists and tried their way of doing art. My favourite French artist is George Seurat because he does his strokes of art in an interesting way.Oil Paintings by Famous French Artists - Allartclassic

creating real life

when I was in class 8 we make volcanos. we had to get news paper and scrunch them up into little balls. Then we needed to stack them up. Make sure the don`t fall over. After that cover it in paper mache, news paper and glue, to stick it together. Near the end of  pasting your volcano we had to attach a plastic cup to our volcano. now we can paint our volcano but don`t paint the cup on the inside. Put a little bit of baking soda in your cup and then pore some vinegar in it.

BOOM!!!!!!! your volcano has exploded                                                                 and that was our paper mache volcano.

Hello Everyone welcome to my blog!!

ABOUT MUSIC

Hey guys its Lauren on my blog I will be talking about Music; my blog will include about how I started Music and how I love it so much and maybe you might get interested about Music might want to try it!

Firstly, I will tell you about how I got into Music. So it all started in year 3/4 ; a letter came out about trying instruments and if lucky join the school band!! I went home excited and tolled everyone about it. I ask if a could get a bass instrument, but my Mum and Dad did not agree with the idea of a bass instrument. So I asked for a clarinet and luckily they said yes!!!

At Redlands we have a lot of people who play instrument also we have a school band with different instruments and a lot of talented kids in the band. First we have the string instruments like violins and much more! We also have wood instruments like the clarinet.

go and see this page it is awesome!

http://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical-instruments/

Also at Redlands we have music lessons from Listen to me music they do all year group, but I don't think they do year R that we be a challenge wouldn't it.They would not like the loud noise! Right now we are learning the uke and next team we are doing the clarinet!!! That is awesome for me!!!!!

I enjoy Music because you can express your creative side. Most people say the clarinet one of the hardest instruments!!! Well I disagree, because it may look hard but one you know how to play it you will think it's easy!!!

If you are interested that ok but you don't have to play the clarinet if you don't want to! There are many different instruments to choose from.

What is a crime?                                     How are people punished

A crime is when someone                       If someone commits a crime
commits an act that breaks                     , they will be punished.Different

someone I would go to jail.

At Redlands

At Redland we studied a lot of different punishments. We were taught about crimes in other countries and how they would deal with them compared to the crimes in our country and how we deal with it.the

School trip to the tower of London

On the 12th November 2015,all of year 5/6 went to London on a school trip! It was loads of fun and I am sure the whole year group loved it. We learnt many new facts some interesting, some unbelievable and some were a little crackers. There were three mane activities for us to do: The wall walk, The crown jewels and The workshop. The crown jewels were amazing and all of the other activities were super fun.

After that, our guide, Chris, guided us around and even showed us the exact spot where King Henry VIII shopped off his wifes' head.

The school football team is good but, compared to the other schools we are not. We try our best yet it doesn't pay off. Our school football kit is red and blue stripes. There has only been two goals for our schools by Jay the first one and Presley  the latest one. A few matches ago against Sarisbury Mr Stubbs was under a lot of  pressure while coaching us because the Portsmouth managers son played football for their school and he was watching Mr stubbs coaching us. He was under a lot of nervous pressure.www.redlands.hants.sch.uk/

Hi guys welcome to my blog all about homework club. Some of you probably don't have clubs in your school but I wanted to tell you what I do at homework club in my school I hope you enjoy it.

What I do in homework club?

When you get into the bigger part of the school (year 5/6) you get more homework than what you had in year 1/2 or year 3/4. In my school we get 3 pieces of homework a week and every 2 weeks we get a project to do. I always do my 3 pieces of homework at homework club and my project with my Mum. I always get on with my homework after school in homework club.

What sort of homework I get?

Every week we get a reading comprehension, grammar task and a maths task. If you guys have homework club in your school then let me know what you do in the comments section. I will leave a link at the end of this blog to my school website so you can have a look at what we do. I really want to know how you guys feel about clubs. If you are a shy person then don't be afraid to join a club because I'm sure there are nice people in your club.http://redlandsprimaryhants.com/

Paris
In topic week we learnt about Paris, and we learnt:
  1. Art and Artist
  2. Landmarks
  3. There food
  4. what in Paris
  5. And more
I will be telling you more about theses.

Art and Artist.
We have learnt about 3 main artist, Seurat, Monet and Matisse. We have learnt about there styels. Then we trade it are self. What do you think?

 Landmarks

We have also about Landmarks in Paris and face about them. In Paris there is the Eiffel Tower.

When did the Eiffel Tower open to the public?

To mark the 126th anniversary of the Eiffel Tower's construction, here are 3  fun face;

Completed on March 31, 1889, the tower  was the world’s tallest man-made structure for 41 years until the completion of the Chrysler Building in New York in 1930.

It is 324 metres tall (including antennas) and weighs 10,100 tonnes.

It was the tallest structure in France until the construction of a military transmitter in the town of Saissac in 1973. The Millau Viaduct, completed in 2004, is also taller, at 343 metres.

There food
In Paris they eat Chocolate soufflé, Tarte tatin  , Cheese , Soupe à l'oignon,. Boeuf bourguignon , Flamiche and more.
1.Chocolate souffleA delicious dessert not to be missed! The crispy chocolate crust with a soft creamy chocolate filling make this sweet delight different than anything you will ever taste.
2.Tarte tatin

They say this apple pie was made by mistake in 1898 by Stephanie Tartin. She was trying to make a traditional apple pie. Fortunately, she accidentally left the apples in sugar and butter for far too long in the pan. In a hurry, trying to rescue the desert, she put the pastry base on top of the burning fruits and then placed the pan in the oven. The desert finished baking and the resultwon't
3. CheeseIf you are up for experimenting and playing with your senses, order a serving of diverse French cheeses. These plates are usually served after the main course and before desert. In general, they consist of pressed, soft and blue cheeses. There is such a diversity of French cheeses, and just like French wine, there is something for every taste.
4.Soupe à l'oignon
This is a traditional French soup made of onions and beef stock, usually served with croutons and cheese on top. Its origins can be traced back to Roman times. However, its current version originated in the 18th century. The remarkable taste of the soup is due to the caramelisation of the onions.
5.Boeuf bourguignon
This is a traditional French meal – a stew made of beef braised in red wine, beef broth and seasoned with garlic, onions, fresh herbs and mushrooms.
6.flamiche

Flamiche means cake in Flemish and it originates from Northern France, near the border with Belgium. It is a pie crust filled with cheese and vegetables. The stuffing in the classic recipe is made of leeks. However, there is also a pizza-like version of the Flamiche which is without the top crust of the pie.

Maths is on core weeks this is when we do no topic and just do maths and English. I like maths because it is challenging for me and I like to practise at home so I can get better. Also I like it because I have other supportive friends around me so I can do the challenge with no fear. My favourite maths lesson was this mornings lesson was factors, prime numbers and square numbers because I have not heard of prime numbers and it was a challenge for me and it was fun and interesting now I know how to do this work so if anyone wants to write their favourite lesson in maths please write it on comments so I can see them. Sometimes we go in pairs to solve problems and last week (4th of February) we had to recognize shapes with clues I think it was fun to do this   control click to see this link   www.mymaths.co.uk

Every term in topic we do different things. The topic this term is French. Last term's topic was crime and punishment. I like topic because it is fun and we get to do lots of different things. In French topic we did about French artists. In crime and punishment we did different crimes, and punishments, throughout the ages. In French  we also did "Which countries speak French?"

I like having different topics each term because they give me a chance to learn and try new things. Sometimes we go on school trips which are based on our topic.

"Topic" means that our normal lessons are linked with a topic.here is a link to learn more about France:france.com

                                         ENGLISH
In English we do different things.Sometimes we have initial tasks which means that we do that lesson indipendantly. My faviroute English lessons are where we get to write stories. We sometimes do information texts. Most of the time,Mrs Hewitt teaches us English. We do English on core weeks when we just do English and maths.English lessons are sometimes linked to our topics.

School FootBall Team
Are football team is really good but are coach puts us agents loads of outstanding schools. there are new people in are team so we need to help them fit in. We also have to let them get youst to are coach's technics for warm ups and to train. We have to really know what team we are in before we lay matches otherwise we will be very unorganized and then we will look really silly agenst the other team. We also need to get better at teamwork because everybody really just wants to score and they don't realize teamwork is how were gonna get better and score! Are first match was really terrible but we have got better but we do need more improvements. We love doing matches and that is the important thing because were having fun(Even though we are technically loseing every single match apart from are first one were we drew 1 all.

its now 2 months later and we have had a good match against at team we have already played last year. we surprisingly were close to winning but still was pretty close. Unfortunately many of are fellow football players couldn't go :( we still played the match but had the same people switching on and of it wasn't that fun of what it would of been if they were here. It was still pretty fun thou:).

I still haven't told you when we most likely have are match's and practice we always have are practice on a Tuesday and have also have are matches on Thursdays or Wednesday unless if are coach is really competitive and wants us to play a match straight away.

Computing

Welcome to my blog about computing, I'm here to tell you about e-safety and what we use our computers for.

For computing we use Hp Compaq 8100s running on windows 7 professional. they're great! We use different programs on them such as, scratch, Microsoft word, Microsoft PowerPoint and for research.

We get taught by our usual teachers (so no fancy I.T person teaches us!). and we have been taught a lot of tricks like: how to program on scratch and how to make a successful PowerPoint even how to write our own wonderful blog. My favourite part of computing is learning how to blog.

E-Safety

The internet is a fabulous place, you can watch movies, play games and find interesting facts about different topics, however, the internet is a dark place and I am here to help to help you to stay safe on the internet.
  • Never give out personal information such as email address, where you live, full name
  • Never arrange to meet people you don't know
  • If something upsets you tell an adult immediately
  • Don't give people your location
  • Don't open unknown e-mail files

A great website for this is: www.thinkuknow.com

Also visit the schools website at: http://www.redlands.hants.sch.uk/

Please leave me some comments to read, maybe say what computer you own or your favourite part of computing in your school (if you are a child).

P.E
HELLO, in my blog I am writing about my favourite lesson P.E. We do a lot of physical education every week and is usually goes on for 1hour each lesson which we have twice a week. Every term we get given another sport that we study until the next term. Also during year3/4 we get to do my favourite sport in the whole world SWIMMING!!!!!!!!!

As this term draws to an end , our theme of sport does not change, because we have had a shorter term we get to carry on with netball witch we have done since the start. Netball has been really good because we have been able to try new skills and technique building
has helped us with ball skills.

When I was in class 8, all of year 3/4 got to go to HMS Collingwood to have a whole Thursday afternoon swimming in the 25m pool. For me it was nothing compared to what I was use to because I swim with Fareham Nomads Swimming Club.  Luckily it was easier which I really liked because I am used to having to train for at least 1 hour and a half  everyday.http://fnsc.wikidot.com/this is a link to our club website see if you can spot me. To be able to do my favourite sport was probably the most exiting news on a Thursday.

This term, instead of Morris dancing, we are doing rhythmical gymnastics which has turned out to be fun and we have only done one lesson! Of course, we are not going to come out with a gold medal standard performance, in fact, I am not even sure if we are even doing a routine at all. Hopefully, we will get to do a class 11 routine in our P.E time but I am not initially sure.

sats
Hi readers,
My blog is all about preparation for sats! Year 6's worry tons, about this test, however if you take the time to study and practise you will find this MUCH easier! This blog I have created will help with ideas and tips for your preparation for sats 2016! If you would like to know something's out  that I have not yet posted please request, and don't be shy! This blog is also for worrying things that you find need to be uncovered, also I'll post things that I find worrying and might help you! I will also leave links to useful websites for sats and regular education! To get away from a stressful note, ill leave a funny joke at the end of every blog! :-)

Take the time!
Take the time to revise and do a weekly times table and spelling test! I provide that you have a notebook, by your side during lessons, so you can scribble down notes!
A simple plain back will do! You could also print some times table squares!

JOKE TIME:
I think my teacher is in love with me!
why?
because I had x all over my homework quiz!

8/2/16
Good websites to use:
www.funbrain.com/

So there are some great websites to use! At home or at school! Use them for sats or test revision, or just for your own educational sake. Don’t sit next to someone you’ll chat with, especially if you’re working on a typically difficult task.

JOKE TIME:

What do you have when you cross a dinosaur and a pig?

Don’t know?

Jurassic pork!!

Hi guys Millie here,
So my last blog update was about good education websites. Now it’s more about FUN learning. Here is a link to a video site:
Just be careful, make sure you have an adults permission to use this website, this may show inappropriate videos (but not the ones I’m about to tell you to watch!)
So some people like English and some prefer maths so here’s a great way to make these subjects more fun!

So open this website in Google. Look up in the search box these videos:
  1. ALMA
  2. BLACK SWAN
  3. DOG FACE
  4. A SCENE FROM BERNARDS WATCH
  5. A SCENE FROM HOLES
  6. So that’s the ones for YouTube.  Right now if you’re an eglishy kind of person you could watch these then write a:
  • Diary ;
  • Newspaper;
  • Story;
  • Description;
  • Character biography.
For maths you can do:
  • Word problems
  • Sums
Also P.E can be important so watch these links:

Abbie's Blog

Hey all,

This is a blog that some may find interesting, others it may not be their topic. But it's your opinion not mine. I am writing about.... CRIME AND PUNISHMENT! Let's get started.

WHAT IS A CRIME?
A crime  is an act that is wrong and breaks the law. A crime can be punished most of the time you go to prison. Although, in other countries it's different. For example, in China for committing a robbery JUST 1 TIME you can have a life sentence or the death penalty. Whereas, in the USA you only get 45 days for a robbery. But I will tell you more later.

WHAT IS A PUNISHMENT?
A punishment is given to someone who commits a crime. Punishments have changed throughout history. Some were slow and painful and some were well still painful but quick like a beheading. The one that gives me the shivers is a hung, drawn and quartered. Do you want to know about some famous criminals? Go to this website and then come back and I will tell you some more.http://www.biography.com/people/groups/criminals

SCHOOL TRIP TO THE TOWER OF LONDON!
On November 12 2015, all of year 5/6 went to the Tower of London! It was a lot of fun as we were with friends and learnt a lot of new, entertaining and some a little crazy facts. There was 3 different things to do: the wall walk, the Crown Jewells and a workshop that only schools can get. We all were amazed at the beauty of the Crown Jewells. The wall walk taught us lots of new facts and we took pictures with our cameras and phones. Now to my
favourite part, the workshop. We were shown where abouts King Henry VIII cut off Anne Boleyn's and Catherine Howard's heads! King Henry VIII said that chopping off their heads was a nicer punishment. They were executed because they were accused of cheating on him!
